Interior Detailing process
The Service

What Interior Detailing actually is.

Interior deep cleaning combines steam cleaning and wet-vac extraction to clean a vehicle's cabin surfaces at a level that surface sprays and standard valeting cannot match. Steam cleaning uses high-temperature vapour to lift contamination from fabric fibres, dissolve dried residue from hard surfaces, and sanitise without chemical residue. Wet-vac extraction removes the loosened contamination along with existing moisture from spills and absorbed humidity.

The result is a cabin that is genuinely clean rather than surface-clean — which matters for vehicles with pet hair, drink spills, food residue, smoke odour, or significant visible soiling.
Is This Right for You?

Is this service right for your car?

Interior detailing is appropriate for any vehicle with a cabin that has accumulated more than routine dirt — families with children or pets, vehicles bought used without knowing the previous maintenance history, vehicles with visible staining, odour, or visible soiling on seats or carpet.

It is also the correct service before applying any interior protection product (fabric guard, leather conditioner) — applying protection over a dirty surface traps the contamination in place.
Who benefits from Interior Detailing
The Process

How Interior Detailing works.

01

Full vacuum

Every surface, gap, and crevice is vacuumed. Seat runners, boot floor, door pockets, and under-seat areas are included. This stage removes loose debris before any moisture is introduced.

02

Steam clean

High-temperature steam is applied to all hard surfaces — dashboard, door cards, air vents, console, trim panels — to lift contamination and sanitise.

03

Wet-vac extraction

Fabric seats and carpet are extracted with a wet-vac machine that injects clean water and immediately recovers it along with dissolved contamination. Stains are pre-treated where required.

04

Leather treatment

Leather surfaces are cleaned with a leather cleaner appropriate to the finish, then conditioned. Alcantara and suede receive dry treatment only.

05

Glass & final detail

Interior glass is cleaned streak-free. All surfaces receive a final wipe-down and inspection before drying.

Common questions

Will interior detailing remove pet hair?
Yes — we use a combination of vacuum attachments and lint tools to remove embedded pet hair from fabric before steam extraction. Very heavy pet hair coverage adds time and may affect the price. Contact us with details before booking.
Can interior detailing remove smoke odour?
Steam cleaning and extraction significantly reduces smoke odour by removing the contamination that carries it from fabric, carpet, and hard surfaces. Severe long-term smoke odour may require ozone treatment (available on request) in addition to deep cleaning for full elimination.
How long does the interior need to dry after extraction?
Fabric seats and carpet are damp after wet-vac extraction — not soaking, but damp. Drying time is typically 2–4 hours with good ventilation. We recommend collecting the vehicle on the same afternoon and leaving doors or windows open where possible. The vehicle is driveable immediately.
Is steam cleaning safe for all interior materials?
Steam cleaning is suitable for most hard surfaces and most fabric types. Delicate materials (silk trim, certain suede finishes) receive dry or gentle treatment. We assess the interior materials at the start of the service and adjust our approach accordingly.
What is the difference between interior detailing and a valet?
A standard valet uses surface sprays, a mop, and a quick-dry product. Interior detailing uses a steam cleaner and a wet-vac extraction machine, takes significantly more time, and reaches contamination that surface sprays cannot. The standard achieved is measurably different.
